Shirley Ann Hancock

 

Black Mountain- Shirley Ann Hancock, 66, passed away Thursday, January 28th with her family by her side at John F. Keever Solace Center.

 

Shirley was the daughter of the late Boyd and Robbie Self. She was predeceased by her husband Robert (Bobby) Hancock, a brother Tommy Self and a sister Irene Harding. Mrs. Hancock retired from Tandy Electronics and was also employed at the Rose’s in Black Mountain and Three Mountaineers Mfg. Shirley enjoyed  many things that include gardening ,doing crafts and watching  the birds from her bedroom window. Her dogs Spooky and Little Bit brought so much joy to her life. Shirley was a loving mother, sister grand mother and friend to Joyce Laws, Doug Gregg, and Tammy Wheeler.

 

Shirley is survived by a sister Clara Miller. Daughters Tammy Brown (Anthony), Judy Turner ( Tony), Robbie Hancock and Kelly Hancock (Marshall),and a son Ronnie Hancock ( Regina). She leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild along with many nieces and nephews.

 

The funeral service will be Tuesday February 2nd at 3:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Cantrell and Norris Wright officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until the service hour at the church. The family would like to thank the staff of Mountain Ridge Wellness Center, Care partners and the staff of John F. Keever Solace Center for everything that was done for Mrs. Hancock.
